AR Rahman is the top music director in the movie industry. His children Ameen and Khatija are also popular in cinema lovers. Rahman's daughter is always spotted with a Burqa. A few pictures came out online in which we can see her wearing the Burqa.
After the pictures surfaced online, a lot of people made comments on the choice of hers, to wear the Burqa. Chinmay posted a tweet in her favor. Chinmayi took to Twitter and wrote, "Also - it’d be nice of people leave Khatija Rahman alone for her choice to wear the Burqa. I don’t see it as any different from shaming a girl that wears short clothes."
This tweet sparked a lot of debate again in the comments section and a lot of people started questioning Chinmayi about the choices she made.
One of the netizens replied Chinmayi, "Sure because you wear a Sindoor and a Thali and those are the same shit. It's not a choice if a man wasn't ever asked to make it. It's oppression that you've romanticized."
Chinmayi reacted strongly to the person, saying, "My husband AND my inlaws don't tell me to wear the Mangalsutra or the sindhoor. My husband believes the same stuff you told me. However, the difference is it is MY choice. And he also doesn’t call it shit."
