Chhello Show Trailer: Karan Johar Praises India's Oscar Bid; Says That The Movie Is 'Placing Us On The Global Map'

When the Gujarati film Chhello Show, also known as Last Film Show in English, was chosen as India's entry for the Oscars in the Best International Feature category in 2023, it was a proud moment for the nation. The Film Federation of India made the statement last week. Pan Nalin's Chhello Show's debut trailer, which Roy Kapur Films just published, is getting a ton of positive feedback from everyone. The movie's trailer prompted a response from director Karan Johar, who praised the whole cast and crew.

On his Instagram account, Karan Johar uploaded the trailer and gushed about how happy he was for the nation as a whole. “An absolutely heartwarming and proud feat for the entire country... LAST FILM SHOW (CHELLO SHOW) is putting us on the global map for being the official entry for India at the Oscars! A cinematic experience awaits to be unfurled,” Karan Johar included along with clapping emojis in his writing. Congratulatory notes for the team have been flooding in ever since it was revealed that the movie had been chosen as India's official entry to the Oscars. Wishing “Wishing ‘Chhello Show’ all the very best as India’s entry for the Oscars”, Ayushmann Khurrana also offered his best wishes to the Chhello Show crew last week. Chhello Show, directed by Pan Nalin, centers on a nine-year-old Samay from the Saurashtra village of Chalala and is set against the backdrop of India's theatres going through a significant transition from celluloid to digital. The movie, which will be released in theaters on October 14, 2022, stars Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval, and Paresh Mehta.
