With films like No Entry, Janasheen and others, Celina Jaitly was once a celebrated actor in the industry. However, she decided to bid goodbye to her career after facing sexual harassment for eight years. The current scene in Bollywood has everybody discussing some malpractices, one out of them is nepotism. Though Celina agrees to the presence of nepotism in the industry, she still begs to differ in most ways.
Talking to a leading tabloid, the 38-year old actress said, "Nepotism is not bad, if there’s a successful transition from one generation to another, which merits talent. But when it blocks the entry of new talent, there's a big problem. Despotism favours the despot, nepotism favours the despot’s genes. Also, children from film lineage have natural immunity from the sexual harassment that exists in Bollywood. And my journey was always a yo-yo between the two."
The Apna Sapna Money Money actress feels that the good actors would always make their way to the top. "Of course, if they have talent, they’ll shine on their own merit. I’d always encourage them to be a part of evolved, inclusive and harassment-free work environments, and each of their projects also must give the opportunity to new talent to shine as well, ”she added.
Apart from her work, Celina is happily settled in her life. She is married to Peter Haag, with whom she has three kids.
