The fifth installment of the CBI series ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ got released on May 1. The Mammootty- K Madhu- SN Swamy trio joined hands with the new film. The film, which completed a theatrical run with mixed reactions, began streaming on Netflix on June 12.
Criticism has been leveled that CBI 5 did not live up to the former standards. The main criticism was that the making and script were not adapted to the changing times.
Within hours of streaming, the film received a large number of trolls on social media. In the days before the release of the film, the cast and crew of the film said that 'Basket Killing' would be the theme of the film. But after the film's theatrical release or its release on OTT, no one who saw the film understood what basket killing was.
The reaction of those who saw the movie on Netflix is that the usual murders have been renamed Basket Killings. According to social media, there are people who do not understand what basket killing is even after the movie.
The most outdated highlights were the CBI posters. Following the OTT release of the film, the posters of the film are also being discussed again.
The poster reads, "Sethuramayyar will not tolerate women, One grain of hatred is enough.”
Social media points out that even films released 10 years ago did not have such captions. Others likened the text of the poster to the captions of TV serials aired after 6 p.m.
The film also stars Ranji Panicker, Ramesh Pisharody, Asha Sarath, Dileesh Pothen, Saubin Shahir, Malavika Menon, Ansiba Hassan, Sudev Nair, Swasika, Santosh Keezhatoor, and Edavela Babu in the lead roles.
