Pitt and Aniston’s marriage broke off in 2005. Speculations claimed that Pitt cheated on Aniston with Angelina Jolie. In an interview with People back in 2006, Jolie spoke about Pitt and herself. She said that there was a “strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened.” But she insists that he never cheated with her on Jennifer Aniston. Aniston backed Jolie on this claim. She said: “It’s just complicated, relationships are complicated… There are all these levels of growth – and when you stop growing together, that’s when the problems happen.”
Due to all the rumored reports of bad blood between Pitt and Aniston, nobody saw the two ever being on good terms again. But things changed recently. An insider recently shared with Entertainment Tonight that Pitt has apologized to Aniston for his mistakes during their breakup. “Brad is completely sober now and is in such a different place than he was when they were together.”
“He has apologized to her for many things he felt were his issues in their relationship. He truly takes ownership of his mistakes and that has changed their relationship with each other today. They both have moved on,” the source said.
Pitt even attended a few events thrown by Aniston, including her 50th birthday party in 2019. “They dig each other’s sense of humor and have infectious energy when they’re together, but they insist things are purely platonic and nothing more than that,” the insider added.
