Boyapati Srinu completes 15 years of film career as a director

Boyapati Srinu needs no introduction to the Telugu film audiences. He is super popular for his high octane masala commercial films. In fact, Boyapati is one of the few directors of this generation who knows how to make a proper commercial potboiler. Thus, many of his films become goldmines at the box office. Today, Boyapati completes 15 years as a director. His directorial debut film Bhadra had hit the theaters on this very same day in 2005. Celebrating this special milestone, let us have a recap into his career.

Boyapati Srinu started off his career as a photographer in a Telugu newspaper. He is the cousin of popular writer and director, Posani Krishna Murali. With the help of Posani, Boyapati joined as an assistant director under Muthyala Subbaiah in 1997. He assisted Subbaiah for films like Gokulam Lo Seetha, Pelli Chesukundam, Pavitra Prema, and Annayya.

In 2005, Srinu made his entry as a director with Bhadra. Starring Ravi Teja and Meera Jasmine in the lead roles, this film was a big hit at the box office. He then continued his form with his second film Tulasi as well. Boyapati scored a massive blockbuster in 2010 with his third film Simha. This Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer film had become the biggest grosser of that year.

Later, he made the films Dammu, Legend, Sarrainodu, Jaya Janaki Nayaka, and Vinaya Vidheya Rama. Most of these films were hits at the box office.
