Ben Affleck has been doing interviews all around about his role as the Batman for the DC cinematic universe. Affleck revealed that while he enjoyed his role as Bruce Wayne in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, he hated working on Justice League.
While breaking down some of his most iconic roles in a video essay for GQ Affleck spoke of his time as Batman. The actor revealed that the Justice League plagued by the issues one after another.
"Justice League was unfortunately touched by some personal tragedy — a death in (director) Zack's [Synder] family. And like I say, sometimes things sort of work and gel and sometimes you seem to be having one problem after another," Affleck said.
The actor further added saying, " I had my fill of that," he tells GQ. "They said, 'Would you like to direct and star in a solo Batman movie?' And I found that, at some point, I had lost my enthusiasm or passion for it. And I thought this should really be made by someone who for whom it's their wildest dream come true. It was clear to me it was time to move on."
Justice League didn't have a good time at the box office either. Warner Bros had to incur big losses and the film faced a lot of criticism from fans and critics alike.
Matt Reeves is now directing the latest Batman flick. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Batman. From the leaked set photos of Pattinson's Batman fans are much excited for the newest incarnation of their favorite superhero.
