Amazon has now come across a major issue in pre-production for its upcoming Lord of the Rings show. Will Poulter who was going to play one of the leads of the show is not out of the project due to scheduling issues. Sources revealed to Hollywood Reporter that Poulter was never officially signed as a cast member. Amazon too refused to comment on the news.
Will Poulter has appeared before in critically acclaimed films and shows like Midsommar and Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.
Amazon acquired TV rights to JRR Tolkien masterpiece Lord of the Rings in 2017. Rumors about a show have been all over the internet since then. The show supposed to begin shooting in New Zealand next year. The original Peter Jackson's films were also shot mostly in parts of Australia and New Zealand.
The show will tell the story of the second age of Middle Earth, the mythical land of Tolkien's world. It will take place before the story of Lord of the Rings and will not mess with the previous films and narratives in any way.
