With many films winning significant honours, the most recent 67th Filmfare Awards was certainly a celebration of Indian cinema. From Shershaah to Sardar Udham, a few of these movies scored massive wins. They also won the majority of the technical accolades. And Ranveer Singh, who played Kapil Dev in the sports biopic '83 alongside Deepika Padukone. She played his real-life wife Romi Dev. And he won the Best Actor prize.
An internet video from the award show showed a delighted Ranveer Singh inviting Deepika Padukone to the stage as well. Their amiable and well-known director friend Karan Johar announced it. Ranveer accepted the prize and said, “Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.”
He continued by thanking everyone and expressing his thanks for being given this honour. He stated: “The past few years have been wonderful. This is the 4th Filmfare in about 6 years which is pretty awesome. I have had the privilege of working with some of the finest filmmakers in the country. I credit them with this (trophy). This achievement is only possible because they believe in me and they believe I can be part of their vision and contribute as an artiste and bring to life the story that they want to tell.”
Ranveer Singh's upcoming acting project is Rohit Shetty's Cirkus. which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde. In addition, he co-stars with Alia Bhatt in the Karan Johar film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani
