AR Rahman is the popular music composer who's making his debut as a producer and his movie is going to skip the theatrical release and will hit an OTT platform this year.
Star composer and the Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman has turned a producer recently. His maiden production venture is the musical-romance film named 99 Songs. Rahman also co-wrote this movie. 99 Songs was originally supposed to hit the screens earlier this year. However, the makers couldn't release the film due to the lockdown. Now, we hear that it will have a direct OTT release on Netflix.
According to the sources, Netflix bought the film's rights for a fancy price. It seems that even Rahman thought that the OTT release will be the best option for this movie. The release date of it will get announced soon.
99 Songs features the newcomers Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas as the leads. It is the story of a struggling singer who wants to make it big in his life. His self-discovery forms the major crux of this movie. Manisha Koirala, Lisa Ray, Aditya Seal, Rahul Ram, and Ranjit Bharot played the other important roles in this movie. The trailer got released long back and it received a positive response from the audiences. Even the entire music track of the movie is out now. This is yet another soulful album composed by Rahman.
Tanay Satam and James Cowley have handled the cinematography of the film. Akshay Mehta and Shreyas Beltangdy looked after the editing works. Jio Studios is distributing the film. Stay tuned for more updates on it.
