An online petition is currently doing rounds over the internet in an attempt to drop Amber Heard from Aquaman 2. The petition already has over 125k signatures. The petition is on Change.org and came as a result of recent controversy. This comes after the alleged fact that Amber Heard physically abused her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
The online petition reads, "Amber Heard has been exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp. In his $50 million lawsuit, Johnny Depp describes many incidents of domestic abuse that he suffered at the hands of his (then) wife Amber Heard, including one incident where she punched him twice in the face and another where she shattered his finger with a vodka bottle, and his finger had to be surgically reattached. He will bear the scar from that for the rest of his life."
Amber Heard played an Atlantian and Aquaman's love interest in the original Aquaman film. It will be interesting to see if anything much comes out of this petition.
The controversy surrounding Johny Depp and Amber Heard is a complicated and old one. We hope that the truth comes out and no harm comes to either of the two actors.
Aquaman 2 is currently busy planning shooting. Shooting begins later this year. The film is set to drop on December 16, 2022.
