Anurag Kashyap Hails SRK, Says 'He Kept Quiet Through Everything'

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham's Pathaan are setting the box office on fire. Siddharth Anand of War fame directed this spy thriller. The film hit the theatres on January 25 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The film grossed Rs 542 crore worldwide and is still going strong at the box office. The film was dragged into controversy when Besharam Rang's song was dropped. Many right-wing groups took offense to Deepika Padukone's saffron bikini and called for a ban on the film. However, the film stood tall and the orange bikini made the final cut. Pathaan rose above the controversies and is now doing incredibly well at the box office. Recently, Anurag Kashyap has been praising Shah Rukh Khan for scoring a massive hit after a gap of four years.

Speaking to Midday, Anurag Kashyap said, "People are coming back to the cinema and people are coming back and dancing on screen. People are euphoric about the movie. There is euphoria and this euphoria is beautiful. This euphoria was missing. This euphoria is also a socio-political euphoria, it is like making a statement." He added, "The man with the strongest spine, the most resilience and integrity who has kept quiet through everything, he has spoken. He has spoken onscreen with his work. It is beautiful. He spoke loudly on screen. I understand what he teaches, ‘Speak with your work, and don't talk unnecessarily'. He is who he is and you can see why."
