Animation Studio Alleges Makers Of 'Adipurush' Stole Their Idea For The Film’s Poster

Adipurush, directed by Om Raut and starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, was the subject of much anticipation on Sunday when the film's creators unveiled the first image and teaser in Ayodhya.

But as many pointed out, the VFX in the teaser were poor, thus it turned out to be anything but what fans had anticipated. On social media, the hashtag #DissapointingAdipurush became popular. It became a source of gripe that Prabhas' face and body were digitally enhanced, that Saif's character Lankesh wore more modern clothing while Prabhas' character wore traditional clothing, that the creatures in the teaser all had a cartoonish appearance, and that the digitally enhanced backgrounds in every frame failed to produce anything even remotely realistic. Om's apparent usage of a strange blend of live-action and animation have shocked many people.

An animation studio has now come forward to claim on social media that the makers of the teaser and several of the first-look shots are allegedly stealing their ideas. The studio tweeted, "The original," beside a digitally created poster depicting Ram entering the battle, highlighting how close Prabhas' fist pose from the movie was to this one. They also uploaded the original poster along with a specific image from the movie where the vanarasena wrote, "This one, my pupils pointed out the similarities. (sic)"

The studio also wrote a note stating they’re not looking to ‘fight’ the makers on these charges, stating, “It’s disappointing to see our work being copied like this. But over the years, it’s happened so many times that it’s just funny at this point. We don’t see the point of fighting this as we’d rather focus on bringing you guys awesome content and continue on building that road. But maybe…just maybe, the word will spread :) (sic)”

A few fans have also noted the similarities. The makers have not yet responded to these accusations.
