Among the popular films that have come out of Malayalam in the last decade, there are only a few films that have created a trend like Bangalore Days. The film, which came before the OTT era, attracted a large number of non-Malayalee audiences in its theatrical release in major cities outside Kerala. Now the Bollywood remake of this movie is all set to reach the audience. But this is also a sequel to a Hindi film released in 2014.
Bangalore Days Hindi remake is a sequel to the 2014 coming-of-age romantic film Yaariyan, directed by Divya Khosla Kumar. Along with the star cast, the director will also be someone else. While Divya Khosla Kumar directed Yaariyan, the second part is being directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. Divya plays an important role in the film. The upcoming film Yaariyan 2 stars Pearl V Puri, Meesan Jaffrey, Yash Dasgupta, Varina Hussain, Anaswara Rajan, and Priya Warrier from Malayalam.
Yaariyan, which came out in 2014, told the story of a group of college students who are friends. Meanwhile the second part is the story of a group of cousins and friends. It also marks the Bollywood debut of Pearl V Puri, Anaswara Rajan, and Yash Dasgupta. The release date of the film has also been announced. The film will hit theatres on May 12, 2023.
