Iconic American singer-songwriter Bill Weathers is no more. The legendary singer passed away in Los Angeles. Bill Weathers is best known for his popular tracks Ain't no Sunshine and Lean On. The whole music world and his fans were devastated by the death of the msical icon.
Bill's family members said that he passed away due to heart complications. They said that he was a man who always tried to connect with the world through his poetry and music. They hoped that his music would bring comfort and entertainment to the fans during these tough times. The 81-year-old singer's career lasted for just 14 years. He started off his career in 1971 and released his last album in 1985. Bill won the prestigious Grammy Awards three times. Ain't No Sunshine, Just the Two of Us and Lean On are the songs which brought him the Grammys.
Bill was born on July 4th in 1938 in West Virginia. He was the youngest of six children. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17. He served in the department for nine years. He left the Navy in 1965 and moved to Los Angeles in 1967 to pursue his career in music.
Speaking to the New York Times in an interview in 2015, Bill said that he can't play guitar or piano but made a career out of writing songs on the guitar and piano. He further added that he never learned music, he just did it.
