Alia Bhatt Wraps Up Shooting For Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, Calls It A Life-Changing Experience

After almost two years of shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt has finally announced a wrap. The actress who plays a mafia queen in the film, pens a long note thanking the crew and especially SLB for giving her a 'life-changing experience. "We started shooting Gangubai on the 8th of December 2019 .. and we wrapped the film now 2 years later," Alia began her post.

"This film and set have been through two lockdowns.. two cyclones.. director and actor getting covid during the making!!! the troubles the set has faced is another film altogether! But through all that and more.. what I take away is the gigantic, mind-blowing, heart-wrenching life-changing experience! Being directed by sir has been a dream all my life, but I don’t think anything would have prepared me for the journey I was on for these two years... I walk out of this set a diff person today!" The 28-year old actress expressed her love for Sanjay Leela Bhansali and thanked him for the film. "I love you, sir! Thank you for being you .. there is truly NO ONE like you. When a film ends a part of you ends with it! Today I’ve lost a part of me.. Gangu I love you! You will be missed. P.S - and a special mention to my crew! my family and my friends for these two years. Without you, nothing would have been possible! Love you guys!!!"

The teaser of Gangubai Kathiawadi was released four months back. It featured Alia in the most different and unique character of a mafia queen and the audience was surprised to see her. The film is most likely to release this year, however, the makers haven't confirmed a date yet.
