Abhishek Bachchan Vaani Kapoor And Many Other Celebrities Were Honoured It Was During The 20th Annual Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne (IFFM)

It is the 13th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). It has revealed the recipients of its prestigious awards. Several leaders from the Victorian government attended the festival in Melbourne. It was held at the venerable Palais theatre. Bachchan, TaapseePannu, Tamannaah Bhatia,  Kabir Khan, Anurag Kashyap, etc. were just a few of the many Indian celebrities and artists who attended the celebration. Mohit Raina, Sona Mohapatra, Mini Mathur, Suresh Triveni, Kapil Dev, etc were also present at the awards ceremony. It was hosted by RithvikDhanjani.

A strong selection of feature films, short films, and documentaries from India and its neighbouring nations were included in IFFM 2022. Abhishek Bachchan received the Leadership in Cinema Award honors. The Disruptor in Cinema Award went to Vaani Kapoor. It was for her ground-breaking performance in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. Vaani said "It's so special and kind of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Mitu to recognize such a film and give so much dignity, respect, and love and accepted it and to have a great inclusion of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui in a film festival. It feels so special and surreal." Abhishek also said that "I thank IFFM for giving me the Leadership in Cinema award. I am extremely ecstatic about being considered for this prestigious award by the Victorian Government and the film festival. Even though this award is not for the best actor, I am very much certain to come back to the festival soon enough for the best actor award too as I am certain I'll soon get it."
