Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' Climbs To The No 1 Spot On Netflix With 6.63 Million Hours Of Viewership

'Laal Singh Chaddha,' starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, may have bombed at the box office, but owing to its OTT distribution, the film is finally receiving its due.

The film launched on Netflix earlier this month and is currently the platform's number-one film in India. According to Netflix, the film is now the number one non-English film in India and the number two non-English film internationally.

According to the data, the Khan-starrer has received over 6.63 million hours of viewing time since it began streaming on the platform. Aside from India, the film topped the charts in 13 other countries, including Bangladesh, Singapore, Oman, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Malaysia, Mauritius, and the United Arab Emirates.

A few weeks ago, the film was pulled from theatres because it could not attract enough footfall and struggled to break the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office. However, it has now succeeded in enticing many spectators who may have missed the film's theatrical release.

'Laal Singh Chaddha' is the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' Oscar-winning film 'Forrest Grump.' The film, which was released in theatres on August 11, grossed approximately Rs 88 crore globally. The film was directed by Advait Chandan and starred Naga Chaitanya and Manav Vij.
