A Suitable Boy based on Vikram Seth's novel of the same name published in the year 1993. The novel is now adapted into a drama series. It will be out on the BBC network and Netflix. The writer of the series is Andrew Davies. It will star celebrities such as Tabu, Ishan Khatter, Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Dugal, Mahira Kakkar, and many more. The series is about four families after partition. Ishan Khatter's character is Man Kapoor, a stubborn son of a leader and Tabu's love interest in the film. The drama series will release in June 2020. A much-anticipated watch.
Ishan Khatter, the main lead when interviewed about working with Tabu, spilled his excitement. He informed that he seems roles that will challenge his acting skills. He said he couldn't wait to work with one of Indian Cinema's big names that is Tabu. She has worked in the film adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's novel Namesake. In which Tabu did an amazing job. Khatter recollects that his first interaction with her was at 'A Suitable Boy' table read.
He expressed his gratitude and excitement at working with both Nair and Tabu. He said not many people get the opportunity to work alongside such big names. He shared a still from the show on Instagram. In the still both him and Tabu are in an in-house swing in a romantic pose. He also said that this particular script resonated with him. Nair also made the whole process really easy and warm. He said she seemed even more welcoming and enthusiastic than him. Her energy rubbed off on him.
He also shared their sophisticated photoshoot from Vogue. All three of them, Khatter, Nair, and Tabu are wearing soft colors. He also said a few words about the novel itself. He said the novel is quite big and he hasn't read it. Though that is fine because the series is a bit modified even though most characters have made it to the series. Khatter wanted to particularly focus on his character.
The series started out with eight episodes but then got reduced to six. Since the series is coming out next month, the fans just cannot wait.
